This month the Chamber is kicking off its "Love the Lakes" Shop and Dine Local Campaign as a way to encourage community members to support local businesses. From area restaurants, to local stores, to service businesses and community organizations, we know that doing business with our trusted members helps to cultivate the well-being of our local economy and strengthen the communities we serve.
All over the Lakes Area "Love the Lakes" signs will be popping up in front of businesses. The "Love the Lakes" logo for these signs was created by and through the generosity of Firebolt Group in Wixom, a chamber business dedicated to crafting innovative brand experience materials, platforms, and applications for consumer brands. "Stepping in to produce and donate signs to the Lakes Area Chamber for their Shop Local campaign was a natural fit for the Firebolt Group," said Philip Ochtman, Firebolt Group CEO. "Not only do we have the technology at our disposal to create the signs, we love any opportunity to support our local community. The Chamber works tirelessly to foster a thriving business environment that we all enjoy, and we are honored to help support that mission in any way that we can."
There are some big advantages to buying local. Research reveals that when you shop local over 50 percent of the money you spend stays within the community. Local businesses also create jobs, and studies have shown that local businesses have a solid track record of donating generously to community causes. "The Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce continues to support our local businesses and organizations and this campaign helps reinforce the positive impact that shopping and dining locally has within our communities," said Laura Bolyard, LACC Executive Director.
When shopping for goods and services we encourage you to look for a Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce member first - it makes all the difference to our local businesses.
